This policy covers personal data collected by IZEapps Ltd from use of the enki-o app available for iOS and Android mobile devices.

Privacy policy

To create an account an email address is requested as a username and a display name is created from this email address. The display name can be edited and is not used by us other than to display within the apps and is not required to be in any particular format. No verification is done to confirm that the email address provided is valid other than confirming that it is structured as an email address.

However, if the email provided is not valid there are certain functions and responses that will be unavailable. These include resetting your password if it is forgotten since a link to reset is sent to the email address given. Your email address may also be used to request an acknowledgement of your requirement for the account to be kept open if it remains unused for a period of time. If no acknowledgment is received within a timescale specified in the request your account may be removed and all data held against that account deleted.

Whilst your account remains live the GPS co-ordinates of the location(s) provided during your account setup are used to allow a visual representation of your setup and to source weather information from OpenWeather (see https://openweathermap.org for more information). No other information is shared with or passed to OpenWeather. This weather information is used to provide forecast information within the apps and to notify you (if notifications have been allowed in settings) of upcoming weather events impacting the use of the enki-o devices within your account setup.

You may delete your account at any time via the app. If you choose to delete your account all data held against that account is immediately deleted and is not recoverable.

Anonymised data sharing

If you agree to an anonymised version of your data being shared, GPS co-ordinates of a wider geographical area are obtained using Nominatim (see https://nominatim.org for more information). A copy of data received from your enki-o device(s) excluding any information identifying you as the user is then held against this area. No display names, precise coordinates or identifying device information is retained or shared.

You can change your mind at any time within the account settings section of your app.

Data retained is used to compare data for historical weather events against those forecast to improve and enhance our products and our apps. The data may also be used to suggest ways of improving our society’s use of rainwater and storm attenuation and to this end anonymised, aggregated data may be shared with third parties.
